Fantastic support from Omnigroup

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

I’m an avid user of both Omnigraffle and Omnioutliner on my Mac – they are superbly crafted applications which I paid for a few years back and have been using without fault.
I’ve been thinking of upgrading to leopard and would like to do a full install – problem is I don’t have a copy of my Omni licences and the email address I used a few years back no longer exists. On a chance, I emailed the kind folks at Omnigroup to ask if they could help.
20 minutes later I received a mail with both licences (from 2 different email addresses) and a kind note from a real person. I spent maybe $120 on both apps and this is how they support me.
I’ve been wondering if I should buy Omnifocus when it comes out – well it’s a no-brainer – with this kind of support I intend not only to buy this but also to finally upgrade my existing licences.
These guys are great – if you own a Mac you need to be buying some of their software now!

What’s that about Cuba

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Watching a documentary about the battle of the 300 Greeks. With no trace of irony, one of the historians is trying to convey the scale of the Persian vs. the Greek states – Persia is the largest empire ever at this point and the army is at least 300,000 men strong – Greece as a whole is 600,000 people. “It’s like every state in the USA ganging up on Cuba”
